Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice, Inc. (KHCH) partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to offer a program focused on recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families.
The Department of Veteran Affairs website reports that one out of four dying Americans is a veteran and a vast majority of them are not enrolled in the VA healthcare system as well as not being aware of the support and services that are available.
By recognizing their unique needs, KHCH learned how to accompany and guide local Veterans and their families through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending. KHCH staff is knowledgeable of the effects of Agent Orange from Vietnam and radiation from WWII and they are able to respond to the needs of the Veteran affected.
Veterans at the Pierceton American Legion shared how their families have received help through Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice. Bob Jarboe is available to educate others about this valuable veterans program.
